Fox News Producer Caught in the Act

FOX PRODUCER RALLIES CROWD x390 (grab) | Advocate.com

A behind-the-scenes video captures a Fox News producer as she attempts to rally participants at a 9/12 event being covered by the channel in Washington, D.C.

The woman caught committing the transgression is Fox News producer Heidi Noonan, according to The Huffington Post. She encouraged the crowd to cheer as correspondent Griff Jenkins reported from the scene.

Fox News acknowledged the incident.

"The employee is a young, relatively inexperienced associate producer who realizes she made a mistake and has been disciplined," said Bryan Boughton, the Washington bureau chief for the Fox News Channel, according to The Huffington Post.

Fox News had promoted the 9/12 event, part of the movement founded by Glenn Beck, who hosts his own program on the Fox News Channel. The 9/12 movement seeks to revive the spirit of nationalism that proponents say existed on the day immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Why is this such a big story? What is wrong with someone rallying people at a rally? Just because you are a conservative does not mean you are anti-gay or anti-civil rights.

It's news because you have a company trying to say it is a "News Journalism" organization but a basic tenet of journalistic integrity is that you report the news, not create news. It's what differentiates professional journalists from commentators. Is it "gay" news? Well, I think it helps put perspective on a station with commentators that care little for progressive politics or gay rights and so I think it informs a gay viewer making it "gay news".

no, this klan gathering has nothing, NOTHING, to do with bolstering nationalism, and everything to do with racist right-wingers who cannot stand the thought of a black man being president. people carried signs that said 'keep your hands off my dough, boy', 'go back to africa', pictures of our president with a bone thru his nose, on and on. a friend from d.c. went down to see what was going on and he said he never heard people say 'nigger' more in his life. what does this article have to do with gay and lesbian people? everything! the people at the klan rally are the same ones who want to deny us our full civil rights. it is important that we stay informed.

I know the Democrats have been acting nasty lately, but don't let the Republican machine suck you in. We have minds, which is more than I can say for most straight people, so let's use them.

ArtNOLA, if you can't understand why any news outlet would cover this or why it's important, I don't believe any amount of explanation involving flash cards and the simplest of language could make you understand. Congratulations on achieving One with obtuseness, now be a good consumer and sit down.

Yeah, I'm sure it is a bit ridiculous but is it really newsworthy? Why is Advocate.com covering this?

"a strong nation after the 9/11 attack" ??? No, we were afloat in a choppy sea of misinformation, paranoia, hysteria, and knee jerk reactions. That wasn't strength. I was in London on the days between the two subway bombings in 2005 - the reaction was 180 degrees different from the USA. I felt much more safe in London that I ever did in the USA. We do not need more of the hysteria that followed 9/11; a hysteria that ended up getting large parts of the world to hate us. I do agree that news is about reporting events, not creating them.
