Cross-Dressing Now Legal in Hillary’s Hometown

If you're a man who wants to dress as famous Park Ridge, Ill., natives Hillary Clinton or Karen Black this Halloween, you can now do so legally in their hometown.

Actually, you can now cross-dress legally in any fashion on any occasion in the picturesque Chicago suburb, which this week dropped an 83-year-old ban on the practice, along with other outdated and unenforced laws, Windy City Times reports.

The law against cross-dressing, dating from 1928, was "just one of those archaic things that never got changed," City Clerk Betty Henneman told the Times. The City Council also rewrote ordinances to repeal a law against swearing in public.

The Park Ridge cross-dressing law was likely one of the few still in existence around the nation. Henneman said her office had received several inquiries about it and the antiswearing law, generally because callers found the measures humorous.
