Comedian Stephen Colbert told his Late Show audience excitedly Tuesday that "something good happened to a woman," announcing Hillary Clinton's clinching the Democratic nomination for president.

Colbert said Clinton's win proves to women that "if you just work hard someday, you too can be vilified as an unlikable Machiavellian crone!"

Watch Colbert discuss Clinton's victory.
