Macaulay Culkin considering Disco Blood Bath

In an interview with New York magazine, former child star Macaulay Culkin (currently appearing in Broadway's Madame Melville) says he's considering taking the role of flamboyant club kid Michael Alig in the film adaptation of the true-crime book Disco Blood Bath. The openly gay Alig, who was the subject of the award-winning documentary Party Monster by gay filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), came from the Midwest and turned himself into a fixture of Manhattan's club scene in the '80s; when a gay drug dealer named Angel disappeared, Alig bragged to friends that he'd killed him. Alig was later convicted of the crime and is now serving a life sentence in prison. The film, which would be Bailey and Barbato's narrative film debut, is still in development. In the meantime, Culkin claims to just want to "meet people, live life, and spread my pixie dust throughout the world."
