Gay Films Get More Awards Nods

As expected, The Kids Are All Right scored nominations for both Producers Guild and Writers Guild awards, while I Love You Phillip Morris was a surprise nominee in the WGA's best adapted screenplay category. Both guilds' awards are considered reliable harbingers of the Academy Awards.
The Kids Are All Right's screenwriters, Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg, are are up for the WGA's original screenplay award, while its producers, Gary Gilbert, Jeffrey Levy-Hinte, and Celine Rattray, will vie for the PGA award.
I Love You Phillip Morris screenwriters John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are in contention for their adaptation of the book by Steven McVicker.
The Producers Guild Awards ceremony will be held January 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Winners of the Writers Guild Awards will be announced February 5 at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.
