Soon after opening, a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Hollywood was met with protests over the chain's alleged ties to antigay extremists.

Thirty people gathered Saturday at the new Hollywood restaurant, located on Sunset Boulevard near the Los Angeles tourist district, to show their disapproval with the Georgia-based fast-food behemoth. The protesters accuse Chick-fil-A of donating money and food to Focus on the Family and other Christian groups that work against LGBT rights. Chick-fil-A is a Christian company -- it doesn't operate on Sundays -- but a company spokeswoman says it doesn't discriminate against anyone.

At the protest, people held up placards and brochures that read, "Say No to Homophobia." Read more here.
