Variety reports that Greg Berlanti--the openly gay writer-director of The Broken Hearts Club and creator of TV's Jack and Bobby and Everwood--will return to the big screen as director of Bridge and Tunnel for New Line Cinema. Berlanti and Michael Green will rewrite the original script--by Jonathan Greenberg, Jonathan Lisco, and Latter Days writer-director C. Jay Cox--about a female stock trader in Manhattan whose hot business tips come from a 16-year-old day trader in the suburbs. Berlanti plans to shoot the film later this year.
