People's Choice nominations
Ellen DeGeneres earned two nominations Thursday from the People's Choice Awards, announced in Los Angeles. The out comedian and actor is up for both Daytime Talk Show Host and Funny Female Star.
Out creator Mark Cherry is also in the running as his Desperate Housewives was nominated for TV Drama--something of a surprise, since the show competed in the comedy division of the Emmys in September. Housewives star Teri Hatcher was also nominated in the Female TV Star category.
The nominations were announced by Ghost Whisperer's Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lost's Dominic Monaghan, and show host Craig Ferguson. Three nominees compete in each category, all selected by polling fans. The public can pick their favorites online at https://www.pcavote.com/. The awards show is scheduled to air January 10, live (on the East Coast and Central time zone) from Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium.
