The Junior Varsity event of election season happened last night, as the two vice presidential nominees debated in Virginia. Hillary's running mate, Virginia senator Tim Kane, and Trump's running mate, offensive Indiana governor Mike Pence, argued over several topics, from terrorism to Trump, though disappointingly nobody brought up Pence's notorious anti-LGBT legislation. And though the debate itself may have been less than thrilling, the reactions from LGBT comedians and our allies on Twitter made the mostly-genial event a bit more entertaining. Here are our favorites:
When everybody weighed in about the candidates.
Did that dude from Mad Men run for Vice President? #pencendejo #VPDebate

When nobody grilled Pence on his LGBT stance.
And when they got talking about women's issues.
When they talked about police shootings.
When Pence awkwardly bragged about how much he prays.
When they argued about Trump. (Also we do pretty much anything Ryan Houlihan tells us to)
When they talked about foreign policy.
When they talked about taxes:
Pence: You can roll out numbers, *eye roll* I GUESS. #VPDebate

What. A. Butthole.
When Pence said "whipped out that Mexican thing again" and we were all horrified/confused/turned on....

Trump: Hey.

Hey.
Why didn't you stand up for me?
Pence: new phone who dis?#VPDebate
When we realized how little this whole endeavor accomplished.
I'm walking away. I've already seen this episode of 2 white dudes arguing about what's best for everyone. #VPDebate

When Robbie Rozelle reminded us of the biggest takeaway.
