Lesbian Marriage
To describe same-sex marriage equality as "gay marriage" undercuts the fact that lesbian couples have been just as important in the fight for equality as gay ones. Many of the most pivotal fights depended on the courage of lesbian couples to fight against discrimination, from Baehr v. Miike in Hawaii to DeBoer v. Snyder, a case that was consolidated with Obergefell v. Hodges in the pivotal U.S. Supreme Court case.
