Many are hankering for a wild night out at a queer bar and Melissa Etheridge captures that feeling in her latest video.
"Cool as You Try," from the Oscar- and Grammy-winning artist's forthcoming album, One Way Out, is a joyous romp through a lesbian bar. As Etheridge plays on stage, one of the bar's patrons gets an irresistable urge to dance and she soon encourages the entire bar to get on its feet.
The video, co-directed by Lisa Eaton and Ayesha Orange, also represents Etheridge going back to her roots. "The (video's) inspiration comes from my days long, long ago when I played in the bars so we wanted to capture that," Etheridge said in a statement.
One Way Outfeatures tracks written by Etheridge in the late '80s and early '90s that were never released. The album is out September 14 and Etheridge is currently touring in support of it. Watch "Cool as You Try" below.
