Boy Scout Scandal
Documentary on San Francisco's KQED, October 27 and
November 3

Expose: In a Small Town is a two-part documentary about small-town newspaper the Idaho Falls Post Register and its series uncovering a local scandal involving the Boy Scouts, pedophiles, the Mormon Church, and courtroom cover-ups. The mostly Mormon readers of the paper wrote angry letters, advertisers canceled ads, and then the attacks got personal -- a local multimillionaire businessman bought ads in the paper and outed the reporter, Peter Zuckerman, whose partner then lost his job. The result was an outcry from the families of those molested by Boy Scout leaders, which ended with a change in the law regarding sex offenders. Part 1 of Expose airs on San Francisco's KQED on October 27; part 2, on November 3.
