A Redmond, Wash., pastor is calling for 1,000 "prayer warriors" to protest outside Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, where students plan to participate in the April 25 Day of Silence to support gay and lesbian students, according to the Associated Press.

Reverend Ken Hutcherson of Antioch Bible Church says the protest will be peaceful. The controversy at Mount Si started after Hutcherson spoke at the school's Martin Luther King Day celebration. Students booed him for supporting African-American civil rights but opposing LGBT rights.

Pro-gay groups have planned to counter Hutcherson's protest on Friday. (The Advocate)
