An evangelical church in Lansing, Mich., was targeted this weekend by activists who claim it's "antiqueer." The group Bash Back disrupted services Sunday morning at Mount Hope Church by calling out slogans, displaying a banner, and pulling a fire alarm, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Though the reporter was unable to reach anyone at the group directly, Bash Back released a statement online that described Mount Hope as "a deplorable antiqueer megachurch," according to the Free Press. But a representative of the church said it will not be intimidated.

"The pastor here preaches the Bible and he doesn't back down," communications director David Williams told the paper.

In a separate statement, Mount Hope officials said the church does not specifically focus on homosexuality in its ministry, though they did call it a sin, "just as fornication, stealing, drunkenness, and lying are sins. No sin greater than the next." (The Advocate)
