Outfest has named Kirsten Schaffer as the organization's executive director, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
Outfest has named Kirsten Schaffer as executive director, according to a statement issued on Thursday. Schaffer, formerly director of programming and deputy director for the organization, will step into the position left vacant by Todd Heustess.
Schaffer has been with the organization, which hosts the major annual LGBT film festival of the same name, for eight years.
"Her passion and commitment to the preservation and exhibition of LGBTQ film is unparalleled," the statement from the board of directors said.
Prior to coming to the Los Angeles-based organization, Schaffer has also worked at the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and at the Northwest International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
