Outfest has named
Kirsten Schaffer as executive director, according to a
statement issued on Thursday. Schaffer, formerly director of
programming and deputy director for the organization, will step
into the position left vacant by Todd Heustess.
Schaffer has been with
the organization, which hosts the major annual LGBT film
festival of the same name, for eight years.
"Her passion and
commitment to the preservation and exhibition of LGBTQ film is
unparalleled," the statement from the board of directors
said.
Prior to coming to the
Los Angeles-based organization, Schaffer has also worked at the
Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and at the Northwest
International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
