More than 40 people were injured in a massive fire that killed 13 people Sunday at a transgender gathering in New Delhi, CNN reports.

The fire, which ripped through a makeshift marquee, was believed to have been started by an electrical short circuit, said the city's health minister, A.K. Walia.

New Delhi's fire chief, A.K. Sharma, estimated that more than 2,000 were present at the gathering.
