A new ad from the Family Research Council attacks Senate majority leader Harry Reid for teaming with "homosexual activists" to push repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
Joe Sudbay at Americablog reports on the ad, which he believes is intended to rattle Reid, who faces Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle in the general election.
"My guess is that, given the timing, FRC's ad is not so much about the Senate campaign," writes Sudbay. "It's more about trying to make Reid delay consideration of the Defense Authorization bill, which currently includes the DADT repeal legislation. As we noted earlier today, Republicans want to push this issue into the lame-duck session in order to kill it. FRC is hoping this ad psychs out Harry Reid. I can't imagine it will work."
