Bryan Jacobson, a celebrity party planner famous for events including the wedding of Robert De Niro's son, jumped to his death from his New York City apartment window in an apparent suicide Monday night.
According to the New York Post, Jacobson jumped from the 14th floor and "crashed to the ground next to a Caterpillar truck parked outside his luxury co-op building at 250 Mercer St. at around 10:45 p.m. Monday, sources said."
Jacobson, who was 37, had tried to suffocate himself and was found with duct tape around his face, according to the Post, which reported that a suicide note was recovered. The city's medical examiner ruled the death a suicide.
Gothamist reported that, "'In the note, Jacobson wrote that he could no longer deal with his health issues, the sources said.' A neighbor speculated to the News on Jacobson's outlook, 'There was no question that he was depressed. Every time you spoke to him you got a negative response.'"
