GOProud, a conservative gay political group, has launched an ad targeting three Congress members as the clock ticks toward Election Day.
The ad, a satire based on the Real Housewives of D.C. series on Bravo, paints Massachusetts representative Barney Frank as "catty" and California senator Barbara Boxer as "arrogant." The ad also includes a sound bite of House speaker Nancy Pelosi, who predicted change when the Democrats took control of the House after the 2006 election.
Jimmy LaSalvia, GOProud's executive director, said in a statement Thursday that the ad highlights "the embarrassing and arrogant approach of Democratic leaders in Washington, and reminds voters that the record of this Democratic Congress is a dismal one."
LaSalvia adds that the spot is the first put up by a gay group that goes after Democrats, and it will air in California, Massachusetts, Hawaii, and New York.
