In observance of Veterans Day, the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network launched a video tribute Wednesday to recognize and honor all veterans, LGBT and straight.

"This Veterans Day we salute all men and women in uniform who have risked their lives at home and abroad to keep America safe and free," retired Navy commander Zoe Dunning said in a press release. "Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender service members have courageously served alongside their straight comrades with distinction throughout American history, and continue to do so with pride."

SLDN, a national legal services and policy organization, also reiterated its dedication to ending "don't ask, don't tell."

"The stakes for repeal happening this year couldn't be higher," said SLDN executive director Aubrey Sarvis. "Repeal advocates must urge their senators to call up the defense bill as reported out of the Armed Services Committee and pass it before the Senate goes home for the year."
