Twilight star Kristen Stewart no longer plans to play a transgender character in K-11, a crime drama that's being directed by her mother and will feature her brother in a supporting role, reportsVariety.

Stewart's mother, Jules Stewart, will direct the film, billed as a "dark character ensemble," and her older brother Cameron will make his movie debut in an as-yet unidentified character.

Goran Visnjic (Beginners) will headline as a record producer who, following a three-day binge, awakens as a murder suspect in a special unit of Los Angeles County's Men's Central Jail that gives the film its title and houses inmates that identify as gay, bisexual, or transgender. Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, who shares a same-sex love scene with Eva Longoria in the comedy Without Men, will costar as a transgender cell block leader.

Actress Nikki Reed, who costars with Stewart in the popular vampire franchise, dropped out of K-11 last year after telling MTV that she would play a man in the film and Stewart would play a boy.
