A 26-year-old transgender woman living in New Hampshire is petitioning a court to allow her visitation privileges with her fiance's young son.
Ally Collina says the ex-wife of her fiance won't allow her to see the 2-1/2-year-old because of her transgender status, though the mother's attorney claims it's because Collina has a criminal record that includes assault and robbery. Collina, who picketed the Family Division of the Laconia District Court on Tuesday, says she hasn't committed any crimes since being released from prison in 2009.
Collina's parole officer says she is not a threat to the child. A judge will rule on Collina's request at a mediation session August 11.
