Writer Anne Rice says she had actor Matt Bomer in mind while working on her latest novel, The Wolf Gift, and would like him to play the lead if a film version is made, in an interview with Good Morning America.
In the just-published novel Rice writes about Reuben Golding, a reporter for the San Francisco Observer, who turns into a werewolf but retains full awareness and enjoyment of his new powers. While there's an obvious similarity to the characters in Rice's beloved Vampire Chronicles, her new story takes place completely in a modern setting.
While there's not yet a film deal set, Rice thinks Bomer would be ideal as Golding. "I think he's a charming, wonderful actor," Rice says. "I think he's so good in White Collar, so funny and so fresh and so wonderfully handsome and at the same time sort of unassuming and charming."
