Soulforce, a group that fights religion-based bigotry against LGBT people, has announced the route and directors for this year's Equality Ride, which takes young activists to religiously affiliated colleges and universities around the nation.
Seventeen riders will board a bus in Philadelphia this weekend, bound for Atlanta, the first stop. From there they will go to Nashville, Chicago, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Dallas, Denver, and other cities before ending up in San Francisco April 30.
The ride's codirectors are Jason Conner, who participated in the 2010 ride and is now Soulforce's director of programs, and J Mason, who works in LGBT youth services in Philadelphia. Find out more about the ride here.
