Donald Trump announced Thursday that he's nominating Mary Rowland to be a federal judge, making it his first LGBT court pick since taking office. If confirmed, Rowland will be a judge for the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She previously spent 12 years as a partner at a Chicago law firm, and 10 years in the federal defender's office in Chicago. Out of Trump's nearly 140 district and circuit court nominees to date, she is the only one who is openly gay or lesbian.
