On Monday a federal court ruled that North Carolina Republicans illegally drew up U.S. congressional districts to benefit their party. Reuters reports the court suggested that new lines be crafted before November's election. The three-judge panel said that Republican legislators responsible for the map conducted unconstitutional partisan gerrymandering to dilute the impact of Democratic votes. The panel gave lawmakers until Thursday to file recommendations to fix the problem.
