Sashay away, POTUS.
Donald Trump continues his attempts to sow distrust in the impeachment inquiry -- or "Witch Hunt Hoax," as he most recently termed it, after the bipartisan backlash to his use of "lynching."
The president took to Twitter Wednesday morning to defend his call with the Ukranian president, in which, according to a whistleblower report and recent testimony, he dangled federal funding in exchange for dirt on a political rival, Vice President Joe Biden.
However, a misspelling of Republicans as "Rupublicans" in the post caught the eye of Twitter users and quickly became a trending topic.
"[T]he call with the Ukrainian President was a totally appropriate one. As he said, 'No Pressure,'" Trump tweeted. "This Impeachment nonsense is just a continuation of the Witch Hunt Hoax, which has been going on since before I even got elected."
"Rupublicans, go with Substance and close it out!" he continued.
Many Twitter users connected the misspelling to RuPaul, the host of RuPaul's Drag Race. The drag queen will frequently incorporate "Ru" in front of existing words -- Ru-pologize, for example -- as a comedic and marketing tactic.
Thus, "Rupublicans" sparked a stream of GIFs, commentary, and jokes of those imagining the juxtaposition of Trump with RuPaul, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election and has pejoratively referred to the Republican as "Drumpf."
Some even called for President RuPaul. In response, the drag performer issued a call to join the Rupublican Party.

Of course, Trump has a long history of typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors in his Twitter posts. ("Covfefe," anyone?) However, one user pointed out how difficult it would be to intentionally type a "u" instead of an "e."
