Thanks to the huge success of San Diego's 2012 Pride celebration, the organization that puts it on was able to present a check for $30,000 to the city's gay and lesbian center.

The Pride party, entitled "America's Pride," featured performances from Kelly Rowland and Natasha Bedingfield and brought thousands of revelers to San Diego. The success allowed San Diego Pride to make one of its largest donations to the San Diego LGBT Community Center, which offers health, well-being, and community-minded services for California's second-largest city.

"It is with great pride that we are able to significatnly increase our giving to such an outstanding organization this year," said Dwayne Crenshaw, San Diego LGBT Pride Executive Director, in a release. "Pride isn't just about throwing an incredible party once a year; it's about honoring the legacy of struggles and successes our community has faced, and supporting the efforts to overcome the obstacles that still lie in our way. Supporting our local community center with revenues generated from Pride was a clear choice in achieving this goal."
