Out Tony award-winning actress Cherry Jones narrates the documentary Miss America on PBS's American Experience, airing Sunday, January 27, at 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific. (Check local listings.) Director Lisa Ades examines this uniquely American phenomenon, from its beginnings in 1921 to the scandals, political movements, triumphs, and controversies it has spawned ever since. Interviewees include eight former Miss Americas, Gloria Steinem, and gay designer Isaac Mizrahi.
