The Divine Miss M is making her way to Sin City next February to replace Las Vegas entertainment staple Celine Dion at the Caesars Palace Colosseum. Bette Midler signed a two-year contract to take over the spot as the resident performer at the 4,100-seat theater, according to Reuters.

"The stage is so enormous, there's a terror that you might not be able to fill it all by your lonesome; you know, a little person in high heels," Midler said in a statement.

Midler, who became a household name after the Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, built a devoted gay following early on in her career, performing at Manhattan's Continental Baths.

She will be among other big-name headliners who are entertaining crowds along the strip, including Prince, Elton John, and Barry Manilow.

The agreement has Midler slated at five nights per week for 20 weeks over the next two years, beginning February 20, 2008. Her shows will run 90 minutes, with ticket prices ranging from $95 to $250 per seat, according to the article. (The Advocate)
