The Imperial Court of New York, a unique drag-oriented LGBT fund-raising group that embraces the glitz and glamour of royalty, raised $100,000 for the AIDS charity God's Love We Deliver at the group's 20th annual "Night of a Thousand Gowns" event held April 1 in New York City. More than 1,200 people attended the charity ball and silent auction, which included the coronation of the group's new Emperor and Empress. Honorary cochairs of the event included Whoopi Goldberg, Joan Rivers, and Blaine Trump. All money raised at the event will benefit the food preparation and delivery services of God's Love We Deliver, which provides healthy meals to men, women, and children living with HIV and other serious illnesses.
