The 2006 HIV
Prevention Leadership Summit, an event aimed at policy
makers, health care professions, and community-based
organizations, kicks off Sunday in Dallas. The
four-day event will include sessions on HIV
prevention; medical care; treatment linkages; HIV antibody
rapid testing; the impact of crystal meth use on
at-risk communities; prevention outreach; and
strengthening the efforts of community-based organizations
and other groups in fighting the disease. The summit is
sponsored by the National Minority AIDS Council and
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
