There were many famous folks who took the stage at the LoveLoud music festival last Saturday -- among them Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons, Tyler Glenn, and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
But one of the most moving appearances came from a transgender youth.
Ash, a member of the Utah LGBT group Encircle, recounted his coming-out story to the over 30,000 present at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City -- and over five million watching the live stream on AT&T's social media channels.
Afterward, Ash led a group rendition of "This Is Me," a song from The Greatest Showman that has emerged as a queer anthem during Pride season.
Launched by Reynolds in 2017, LoveLoud is a music festival that supports LGBT youth. This year, the event raised over $1 million for organizations like Encircle, The Trevor Project, and the Tegan and Sara Foundation.
