Los Angeles police arrested a woman Thursday in what they are calling a hate crime. Angela Sandoval Hernandez was arrested for instigation of attempted murder for her alleged role in the shooting Tuesday night of a man after the two got into an argument in a restaurant near downtown Los Angeles, officer Jason Lee said. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was shot in the left arm and was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Thursday. Hernandez and an acquaintance, Jaime Alberto Martinez, argued with the victim after Hernandez made a comment about the man's sexual orientation, Lee said. When the victim responded to Hernandez, she slapped him, police said. He slapped her back, and then Martinez pulled out a handgun and shot the man, police said. Police are searching for Martinez.
