New DVDs of queer interest include <i>Brother to Brother</i> and <I>A Dirty Shame</i> (16259)

Several new DVDs of gay and lesbian interest make their home video debut on Tuesday, June 14. Rodney Evans's award-winning Brother to Brother (Wolfe Video) tells the moving story of a contemporary gay black writer (Anthony Mackie) and the ongoing legacy of the Harlem Renaissance. John Waters's latest comedy, A Dirty Shame (New Line Home Entertainment), takes a skewed look at the culture wars by setting sex-negative "neuters" against concussion victims who have become voracious sex addicts. Festival favorite Clara's Summer (Picture This! Home Video) is a French lesbian coming-of-age tale. And finally, the campy Mario Bava cult classic Danger: Diabolik makes its long-awaited DVD debut in an edition that includes a commentary, documentary, and a Beastie Boys video.
