Aerial artist John Quigley will be marking World AIDS Orphans Day on May 7 by helping to assemble a huge human "Circle of Hope" on the beach in Santa Monica, Calif. The image will be photographed from the sky and used to support youth AIDS organizations. The event also will help mark the launch of the "May 7 Coalition," an organization formed by an alliance of Los Angeles-area organizations helping to support HIV-infected and HIV-affected youth around the world. The event is free and will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the south end of Santa Monica State Beach in Lot 5 South, 2600 Barnard Way.
