A Florida murder suspect described by law enforcement officials as potentially "homosexual and/or effeminate" has been added to the U.S. Marshal's "15 Most Wanted" list in the Thanksgiving slaying of four members of his family.
Paul M. Merhige, 35, is accused in the shooting deaths of his twin sisters (one of whom was pregnant), a 79-year-old aunt, and Merhige's 6-year-old cousin. Two other family members were also wounded during the rampage in a Jupiter, Fla., home.
According to news reports and law enforcement releases, Merhige attended Thanksgiving dinner with his family and left "for a short period of time" before returning and opening fire.
In a November 26 news release, U.S. Marshal Services listed "homosexual" and "effeminate" behavior among Merhige's potential identifiable characteristics, along with near-obesity and obsessive-compulsive behavior. It also said Merhige may "frequent homosexual establishments."
