Stephanopoulos to Join GMA

ABC News This Week host George Stephanopoulos will become the anchor of the network's Good Morning America, which came under fire recently for its decision to boot Adam Lambert from the program.

According to The Huffington Post, which reported the news from Mike Allen at Politico, ABC will make the announcement on Thursday.

"Allen adds that Stephanopoulos may begin anchoring the morning show -- along with co-anchor Robin Roberts, and recently appointed newsreader JuJu Chang -- as soon as Monday," reports The Huffington Post.

Stephanopoulos, who served as the communications director for President Bill Clinton, will replace outgoing GMA anchor Diane Sawyer, who will move to anchor World News, the evening newscast, December 21.
