A Buffalo, N.Y., woman is recovering after emergency surgery to repair slashes on her right eye she sustained after being attacked early New Year's Day. Lindsay Harmon was leaving Roxy's nightclub at 2 a.m., according to a group supporting her on Facebook, headed by her girlfriend, Nichole Bauer.
Bauer wrote that she was walking with Harmon and their friend Dina down Main Street in Buffalo when a group of two women and four men approached and started to spout homophobic slurs. One of the women in the other group stabbed Harmon in the right eye, right cheek, and left arm.
Bauer said Harmon has stitches in her arm, cheek, and eyelid, and that the damage to her right eye has been repaired.
The assailants ran away and have yet to be identified. Bauer has asked anyone with information to contact Buffalo police detective Tim Rooney at (716) 851-4403.
