Payback for Nonagenarian Prop. 8 Donor?

After donating $26,000 to pass Prop. 8, a 96-year-old Oakland man may be facing the consequences of his contribution.

The reappointment of Lorenzo Hoopes (pictured) to the board that oversees Oakland's historic Paramount Theatre has been put on hold by Oakland mayor Ron Dellums, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. The paper indicates that this is a sign that Hoopes's 30-year tenure on the board is most likely over.

"A lot of us don't think that he represents our thinking in Oakland," city council president Jane Brunner told the Chronicle.

Hoopes is a former Mormon temple president.
