Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, the only openly gay prince in India, has launched a magazine called Fun that aims to reach "basically anybody who loves men."
According to the Southern Voice, which cited the Indo Asian News Service, Gohil already has printed 75,000 copies of Fun, which is available by subscription and at bookstores and newsstands in India. A lifestyle title, Fun is the second publication from Gohil, whose Bombay Dost covers gay rights and HIV/AIDS issues.
"The magazine also appeals to straight women, basically anybody who loves men," said Gohil. "The other gay magazine, Bombay Dost, talks about gay empowerment and HIV-related issues. But this is a magazine which speaks of the lifestyle of gay men. We're focusing on fashion, fitness, gizmos and relationships ... the real life coming-out-of-the-closet kind of stories, health, relationships. It is a complete lifestyle magazine that will interest all, not just gay men, lesbians, bis, transgenders."
Fun brings the number of LGBT publications in India to seven total, with rising demand because of advances such as last year's high court ruling that decriminalized gay sex.
