The Atlanta police department named the members of its new nine-person LGBT advisory board Tuesday.
According to the Associated Press, "The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Advisory Board is described as a 'critical link' between the police department and the community. Its members include an assortment of business owners, advocates and city professionals active in the gay and lesbian community."
The board announcement arrives as police continue to investigate the shooting death last week of Durand Robinson, co-owner of Traxx nightclub and organizer of the city's black gay pride event. It remains unclear whether the murder was a hate crime.
The GA Voice provides names and more details about the advisory board members.
