Federal employees can take off up to 24 hours a year to care for same-sex partners as part of a benefits package extended last year by President Barack Obama that does not include full health care coverage for partners.
The Washington Post reports that Office of Personnel Management director John Berry said Tuesday that federal agencies are also looking at possible relocation assistance for employees in same-sex relationships.
"Anything we can do to make our federal employees know that we respect them and we want to treat them equally, we should be about doing," Berry said.
