Morrissey calls the future bride of Prince William "Kate Muddleton" and says he has no plans to watch the royal wedding, according to an interview with BBC Radio 5.
"Why would I watch the wedding?" Morrissey asked. "I do seriously believe that they are benefit scroungers, nothing else."
The former vocalist and songwriter for the legendary band The Smiths has spoken out against Britain's monarchy for decades, even titling the group's 1986 album, The Queen is Dead. In the title song, Morrissey took aim against the Windors. Addressing Prince Charles, who was then recently married to Princess Diana, he sang, "I said Charles, don't you ever crave / to appear on the front of the Daily Mail / dressed in your Mother's bridal veil?"
