🗳️ Michigan Democrats are reportedly urging Pete Buttigieg to run for governor. The current governor, Gretchen Whitmer, still has two years in office, but can't run again due to term limits. This past election saw Republicans make considerable gains in the state, including taking control of the state's House of Representatives. Michigander (Michiganian?) Dems are hopeful that Buttigieg may keep the governor's seat blue if he runs. 🫏
✨ After SCOTUS heard oral arguments in U.S. v. Skrmetti, the court case that could decide the course of gender-affirming care in the country, parents of trans kids spoke to The Advocate about what they hope for their children and other transgender youth.
💰 An Oregon teacher was punished for calling out anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination at her school. She sued. Guess what? She just got $90k from the suit.
📚 Also, New Jersey just outlawed book bans. How cool is that? Other states, take note.
