Hi there,
This newsletter took a break on Thursday to hold space for to rest on the holiday, but we are back! We're thankful for having you as a reader. We're also thankful to former Advocate editor-in-chief and current equalpride vice president of editorial, special projects Tracy E. Gilchrist for the "holding space" meme.
📢 Tomorrow, the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be spread across the White House's South Lawn. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will lead a moment of silence in honor of those who have died from HIV/AIDS.
"The AIDS Memorial Quilt, which began at a storefront in San Francisco at a time when victims did not receive funerals due to social stigma, is heading to the White House for the first time in history," a White House spokesperson told The Advocate. "On World AIDS Day, the President and First Lady will honor the memory of those we have lost to HIV/AIDS and celebrate the remarkable strength of those who continue to live and thrive with HIV.”

🌈 Look, the answer! 🌈
Each week, The Advocate newsletter has a little bit of LGBTQ+ trivia. Tuesday, you'll get a question. Thursday, you'll normally get a hint. And today, you'll get the answer.
This week’s question: What is the name of the film adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel The Price of Salt?
This week's answer: Carol. The 2015 Christmas movie Sapphic historical drama has become iconic thanks to the performances and chemistry of the stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. It's also a Todd Haynes film, so there's that.
🎉 Congrats to Teresa, Richard, and Wan-Lin for getting it right!
