Katie Zacharia, we hardly knew you.
That's right folks, Audience Editor Edgar Ramirez here, back in your inbox with the latest from Christopher Wiggins on now the former(!) White House press secretary.
It was just two days ago that this newsletter led (in semi-jest) with the subject line: Is the new White House press secretary here to stay? Turns out that question got awkwardly answered at first by President Donald Trump, as Christopher reported, and then a few moments later, confirmed that Katie was out after just five short days.
It's hard to pinpoint exactly what made the president change his mind only days after saying she had done an "excellent" job in her not-so-excellent debut. Was it the China story?
Her interview with Sean Hannity certainly didn't help her case (no pun intended).
If anything, Katie can brag on top of that law degree of hers that she has Anthony Scaramucci's record beat; if you'll recall, he was ousted as Trump’s communications director on his 11th day in 2017.
Have a Happy Friday and weekend, all!
