Hello and Happy Monday! Audience Editor Edgar Ramirez here, back in your inbox, hoping you all had a great weekend. But if it wasn't great, I'm hoping it was better than the one several officials in the Trump administration found themselves in.
As The Advocate's Christopher Wiggins reported, President Donald Trump publicly rebuked his hand-picked U.S. attorney Jeanine Pirro on Saturday after her office abandoned the felony case built around his false claims that vandals damaged the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum decided to join in, publicly challenging Pirro's decision.
Who needs enemies when you have coworkers like these? Don't miss the full timeline Christopher put together here.
And if the administration was hoping to start the week on a more positive note, it was sadly mistaken, as Christopher reports it was met with another lawsuit today from transgender federal workers. That's on top of this news report regarding the administration's treatment of transgender troops.
So much winning! We hope you enjoy staying in the know about the top LGBTQ+ news stories as much as we enjoy delivering them to you. If you’d like to show more of your support, consider becoming an Advocate supporter!
