Ellen responds

Donald Trump's feckless son suggested the comedian is trying to bring down his dad. DeGeneres said the elder Trump is destroying his presidency all by himself.

After Eric Trump expressed shock on Tuesday that Twitter suggested he follow Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Ellen DeGeneres -- lumping all three people together with the hashtag #deepstate -- DeGeneres got the last laugh.

DeGeneres addressed the mini-controversy Wednesday during her monologue on her talk show. When the out icon became aware of the Trump tweet, she said, she was confused, initially not knowing what "deep state" meant.

"'Deep state' is supposed to be a group of people [the Trumps] believe are trying to undermine Donald Trump," DeGeneres said, "which is ridiculous, because no one has undermined Donald Trump more than Donald Trump."

DeGeneres added that she'd have no time to take part in the deep state, saying her schedule is packed with the "gay agenda," "Illumanti" meetings with Beyonce, and her attempts to make a baby with wife, Portia de Rossi. Watch below:
