According to Newser, a man accused of driving his car into a crowd of protesters has been charged with federal hate crimes. James Alex Fields Jr. has already been charged with state crimes, including murder, for killing Heather Heyer and injuring others after he rammed his car into a group of people. The 21-year-old was attended a white nationalist rally organized by Unite the Right last August in Charlottesville, Virginia. After a contention confrontation with counter-protesters at a park in the city, Fields got into his car and drove into a group of them on a street.
